CLASSIC LEAGUE

Classic League takes all the fun and energy of Queer Dodgeball Toronto and puts it on a full-size court for those who love more running room, faster throws, and bigger team dynamics. Games are spread across two gyms with 18 teams in rotation, so you get all the excitement of dodgeball with plenty of opportunities to meet new people.

The best part of a social-first league? The friends you make! Each season, teams are randomized, and every Monday you’ll play two 20-minute games, plus one shift as referee – with our friendly captains making sure everyone feels welcome on and off the court.

Our four big QDT events – the Draft Party, two themed nights, and the Closing Ceremony – plus weekly post-game hangouts at our sponsor bar, bring Classic and Little League players together to connect, celebrate, and swap game stories.

So come join us! Whether you’re looking to play hard, meet new friends, or both, Classic League is all about community, competition, and having a blast while dodging (and throwing) some balls.

RULES & VIBES

If you’ve played dodgeball in elementary school, you already know the basics: throw balls, dodge them, and catch them. We keep it light and playful because this is a queer-friendly league, not the Olympics. We’re all here to have a good time, meet great people, and enjoy some lively, slightly chaotic, ball-filled Mondays together.

That said, respect and sportsmanship are non-negotiable. Aggressive, antagonistic, or negative behaviour on or off the court won’t be tolerated and can lead to being removed from a game – or in more serious cases, the season or league altogether. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels free to play, connect, and just be themselves.

Before the season kicks off, please take a few minutes to read through the rules for Classic League. Your team captains are always happy to help with any questions, clarifications, or wild “what if” scenarios (we’ve heard them all). You can also find the full rulebook PDF linked below for easy reference.

Most importantly: have fun! This league is about friendship, community, and joyful chaos – with some dodgeball thrown in to keep things spicy.
